The fourth-annual Japan Festival CANADA took place in Mississauga, Ontario, on Aug. 24 and 25. The event celebrates Japanese performance, food and drink, technology, and contemporary and traditional culture and fashion. This year the event also celebrated the 90th anniversary of Japanese-Canadian diplomatic relations.
This is the fourth year that Canon Canada sponsored the event.
“We are a Japanese company that proudly operates in 13 office locations throughout Canada, including having an office in Mississauga and our headquarters in Brampton,” says Nobuhiko Kitajima, president and CEO of Canon Canada. “Actively participating in this event allows us to not only support our community but also celebrate the long history between the two countries. We look forward to the event every year!”
Members of the Canon Canada team set up a booth to welcome visitors. Employees educated attendees on the company’s environmental initiatives and, in line with the environment theme, gave away black-eyed Susan seedlings, a native wildflower that attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies. This supports biodiversity and increases the health of an ecosystem.
Visitors also test-drove various Canon products, including the EOS Rebel T6, PIXMA TS3120 wireless inkjet printer, IVY Mini Photo Printer, IVY CLIQ Instant Camera Printer and IVY CLIQ+ Mobile and Compact Printer.
“Japan Festival CANADA has been very fortunate and grateful for the support and sponsorship it’s received from Canon Canada,” says Terry Wakasa, chairman of Japan Festival CANADA. “Especially this year, as Japan Festival CANADA 2019 celebrated the 90th anniversary of Canada-Japan diplomatic relations, Canon Canada’s continued sponsorship was highly appreciated by the large crowd of attendees, affiliated associations, organizations and different levels of government both in Japan and Canada.
“On behalf of Japan Festival CANADA, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation to Canon Canada.”
