FAQ

What is a Labour Warranty, when does it start, when does it expire and is it transferable?

  • Canon Canada Inc. provides a Labour Warranty to both the Original Customer who obtains certification from Canon and to a third party who purchases the Canon Certified camera or lens from the Original Customer (referred to as the "Customer"). This warranty is valid for a period of four (4) months starting from the certification date.
  • It's important to note that the Labour Warranty covers labour costs for any repairs that may be required during the warranty period. However, it does not cover parts, batteries, or accessories, as specified in the Limited Warranty.
  • To qualify for the four (4) month labour warranty, the buyer must register the Canon Certified camera or lens by the end of the extended warranty period at canon.ca/register
  • For more detailed information about the warranty, including its terms and conditions, you can download the full warranty document from the following link:

Do I have to pay for shipping?

  • The Original Customer is responsible for covering the shipping costs when sending a product to Canon Canada for the certification. This includes the cost of packaging, insuring the shipment and arranging for the shipment to Canon Canada's designated service centre. Once the certification has been completed, Canon Canada will arrange for its safe return to the Original Customer without any additional shipping charges.
  • For a limited time, Certified Pre-Owned customers will receive complimentary inbound shipping with the purchase of their certification. A shipping waybill will be provided upon completion of the online registration form. In addition to the complimentary inbound shipping, return shipping will be provided at a flat rate of $15.00 upon completion of certification. This is in addition to the certification fees.

How do I get a cash-back rebate?

  • Once a certificate has been purchased, the Original Customer must purchase eligible gear from an authorized dealer within 90 days of certification.
  • The Original Customer must then fill out the form at Canon Creator Lab within 30 days of purchase of the new gear.
  • The value will be equal to the amount paid for the certificate.
  • The funds will be deposited into the Original Customer’s bank account.

What if I can’t sell or choose to no longer sell my gear?

  • If you are unable to sell your gear or choose not to sell it anymore, it's important to understand that our certification process is specifically designed to verify the gear meets Canon Canada's standards. The certification conditions are not related to the terms of sale. Therefore, even if you decide not to sell the gear, the certification still confirms that it meets the established standards set by Canon Canada.
