BRAMPTON, ON., November 28, 2017 – Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, was the proud recipient of three prestigious 2017 PrintAction Canadian Printing Awards earlier this month. Now in its 12th year, PrintAction’s Canadian Printing Awards program is based on four distinct segments: Environmental, Printing, Technology and Industry Achievement.
Canon Canada received gold awards for the Most Progressive Printing Technology, inkjet; Self Promotion, printing industry supplier; and Most Environmentally Progressive Technology Company at PrintAction’s awards gala celebrating the progress and innovation of Canada’s influential printing industry.
“Winning these three prestigious PrintAction awards reinforces Canon’s commitment to investing in and bringing innovative and environmentally friendly technology to market,” said Patrick D’Souza, Senior Vice-President & General Manager of the Professional Printing Solutions Division at Canon Canada. “We’re proud to receive this recognition from our industry peers and to be part of an industry that continues to thrive.”
“Canon’s commitment to the environment is not only reflected in all of our products, it permeates throughout our organization and to our employees,” said Tony Valente, Executive Vice-President of Finance and Corporate Administration at Canon Canada. “We’re very excited about the future of print and the print industry, but even more so knowing we are working together to shape a more sustainable world for all Canadians.”
Canon Canada was recognized with the following accolades at the 2017 PrintAction Canadian Printing Awards Gala.
Gold Award – Océ Colorado 1640 Featuring UVgel technology
The Océ Colorado 1640 printer, which features Canon’s groundbreaking UVgel technology, is the fastest 64" roll to roll printer in the market. The Canon UVgel technology encompasses the advantages of existing printer technologies such as UV, latex and eco-solvent, while eliminating many of their compromises. The Canon/Océ UVgel piezo-electric printhead combined with its UVgel ink, low-heat media platen and LED-curing concept provides commercial printers with a solution that can print on a large range of medias, has a large colour gamut, emits zero VOCs, possesses incredible light fastness and has no drying time, while increasing productivity to help turn around jobs in a fraction of the time and cost.
Gold Award – Océ VarioPrint i300 sample Variety - The Spice of Life Media Catalog
Variety - The Spice of Life Media Catalog showcases 15 different types of paper to highlight the impressive media versatility of the Océ VarioPrint iSeries. The Océ VarioPrint iSeries with Océ iQuarius inkjet technologies bridges the gap between the application flexibility and efficiency of sheet-fed presses and the economy and productivity of web-fed systems, without compromising quality. It enables print providers to handle new and more diverse applications with an eye toward profitability. The Océ VarioPrint iSeries’ optional ColorGrip feature enables printing on a wider range of media, expanding the application range. ColorGrip enhances the image quality on papers not designed for inkjet, giving these papers a print quality rivaling inkjet treated stocks. ColorGrip also expands the media range to include some coated offset stocks. Now print jobs can include a variety of coated, uncoated and treated stocks, and the printer automatically adjusts the print parameters for each media type on a sheet-by-sheet basis.
