BRAMPTON, ON., February 22, 2017 – Building on a decade of experience in inkjet technology, Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced its new Océ ProStream series inkjet press, a solution designed to open up new business opportunities for commercial printers. Leveraging two years of development and a greenfield approach regarding design, this series is built on new innovative technology that takes high-speed inkjet to the next level of colour output quality and media versatility, particularly in high-growth segments such as publishing, premium direct mail, graphic arts, and marketing collateral.
“The ProStream Series utilizes the new polymer based pigments inks together with ColorGrip to obtain high colour vibrancy, large colour gamut and media flexibility. These features combined with the new contactless drying system allow the ProStream series to create high quality, high margin prints for a market that demands a certain print quality on gloss and matte coated papers.” said Alec Couckuyt, Senior Director, Professional Printing Solutions Group at Canon Canada Inc. “The commercial printing industry will see an inkjet solution that is truly unique, with the capability to do short-run colour inkjet jobs running back to back and a colour quality that rivals offset, making it a strong competitor in the graphic arts industry.”
With a resolution of 1200 dpi and a print rate of 262 feet per minute, this heavy-duty production engine, delivers outstanding quality on a broad range of media. The new series is already winning accolades even before launch: the ProStream has earned a coveted iF design award for 2017.
The latest piezo drop-on-demand inkjet print head generation is leveraged with Océ Multilevel technology for sharper details, smoother half tones and economized ink usage. An Océ-developed set of ColorGrip and polymer pigment inks creates exciting, vibrant colours that leave a lasting impression
The sensitive floatation air dryer ensures that the printed paper is not touched until the print images are fully robust – there are no scratches or changes to gloss levels and minimal paper stress for maximum quality.
For seven straight years, Canon has been the worldwide leader in continuous feed inkjet. A key to that success is Canon’s commitment to bringing innovative technology to the professional digital printing market.
