Proceeds support under-represented and emerging young artists in field of photography
BRAMPTON, ON., DECEMBER 09, 2020 – Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce that with the help of Canon photographers and videographers across the country, it helped raise $11,760 on behalf of the Magenta Foundation.
The proceeds came through the Canon EOS R System Road Trip, a series of outdoor events that took place through late summer and early fall. With 20 stops in 12 cities across Canada, the Road Trip invited local photo and video hobbyists and professionals to sign up and “test drive” the EOS R5 and R6 full-frame mirrorless cameras in unique outdoor spaces with all the appropriate physical distancing and contact tracing protocols in place. More than 1,100 photo and video enthusiasts registered for the events. Attendees paid $10/registration, and 100 per cent of the proceeds went to the Magenta Foundation.
“Canon Canada’s Canon EOS R System Road Trip raised a remarkable amount for our Flash Forward Incubator Program, and we are so pleased with the donation,” said MaryAnn Camilleri, Founder of The Magenta Foundation. “We’re grateful for every dollar, as it will definitely make an impact on the nationwide arts education we provide. Our program reaches youth in underserved communities from coast-to-coast, and these funds will make a lasting impact on Flash Forward Incubator and all the youth who take part. Thank you, Canon Canada.”
