Sheridan College celebrated their latest class of graduating students of the Honours Bachelor of Photography Program at the annual GRADWORK Showcase. The springtime event marks the students entry into the professional community. The graduates have the opportunity to not only showcase their work from their fourth year but also introduce themselves to industry insiders, including photo editors, art buyers and fellow photographers. This year, the evening returned to an in-person event for the first time since 2019.
The GRADWORK website – www.sheridanphotography.ca – features images by each of the 58 graduating students, along with a statement about their work.
“From the crispness of every pixel to the versatility of lenses, Canon technology unleashes boundless possibilities, enabling aspiring artists at Sheridan to explore and expand their artistic horizons,” says Heather Morton, program co-coordinator of Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Photography program. “As the foundation of their learning experience, Canon helps to equip students with the tools they need to embark on an exhilarating journey, where every shot is a stepping stone toward success."
Judges handed out 12 awards. Canon Canada proudly sponsored the Canon Awards for two deserving graduates.
This is the 16th consecutive year Canon Canada has supported the program with scholarships. In addition to the two special awards for graduating students, Canon Canada presents $2,000 scholarships to the top students in Years 1, 2 and 3 of Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Photography Program.
“Canon’s unwavering commitment to excellence empowers students to capture their vision with unparalleled clarity, and to transform their ideas into captivating visual stories,” says Donna Braggins, Dean of Sheridan’s Faculty of Animation, Art and Design. “Canon’s long-time support and investment makes them a trusted partner and collaborator on building an incredible student experience.”
