Since 2014, Branch Out has provided a meaningful way for Canon Canada employees to protect and preserve the environment in the communities where they work and live. The environmental volunteer program encourages employees to roll up their sleeves and participate in environmental projects such as planting trees, removing invasive plant species and restoring shoreline. Through these projects, employees actively demonstrate the company’s Kyosei philosophy – all people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future – and make a tangible difference for the planet.
With Canon Canada’s offices closed and many employees having transitioned to remote work, this year’s Branch Out focuses on virtual activities employees can do at home or in their local communities. The event is an interactive scavenger with an emphasis on environmental tasks, challenges and activities to explore local environments.
In addition, Canon Canada will donate to four environmental organizations to assist with their current projects.
