Improving resource efficiency and reducing our environmental impact to ensure a sustainable environment for future generations is important at Canon Canada and reflective of our corporate philosophy of Kyosei and the Canon Americas Environmental Charter.
To support this, Canon Canada’s General and Environmental Affairs teams held recycling events at our Calgary, Montreal, Mississauga and Brampton offices earlier this month. Employees brought in their old or unwanted consumer electronics to divert these items from the landfill and recycle them responsibly. Curbside drop-off bins were set up for the event. Employees were required to wear non-medical masks or face coverings and to practice safe physically distancing when depositing their electronics in the bins.
Recycling consumer electronics – including TVs and monitors, cellular devices, and computer accessories like mice and trackballs – helps to conserve natural resources and keeps toxins such as lead and mercury from contaminating our air, water and soil.
